In 2019 we thought about setting up a glamping site. We live in such a beautiful part of the world and wanted to share it with our potential customers.
Lots of research, visiting Glamping shows, seeing various pods, etc, we placed our order with Quality Pods Wales in September 2019 – yikes – it was coming a reality.
December 2019, our planning permission was submitted and in February 2020 it was granted – all systems go.
26th March 2020 – 10 days into the first Covid 19 lockdown in the UK and our first day of using the JCB on site to dig out the site by Reece.
We live in a beautiful part of the world, but we live on a hill – the site had an awful lot of stone and rock to dig out – so, let’s make use of this. On the site you will see a large flower bed at the entrance of the car park, a stone wall at the rear of the car park and areas of stone wall at the back of the site – these were all reclaimed from what Reece dug out and built by Lynne (with the help of Glyn, Reece and Carrie lifting the big stones!!).
All the soil that was dug out of the site has been put back on for the grassed area between and in front of the pods – all this work has been done by the Jones family.
The week before Christmas 2020 and the day we had been working towards had finally arrived – the first pod was making its way from Pembroke to Llandeilo Graban – a mixture of nervousness and excitement – this was getting very real.
January to April has seen a hive of activity getting the site finished and ready for our guests – we hope you love our site and our pods as much as we do.
“We had a fantastic week at Great House Farm. The pods were excellent, the high quality finish with everything included was just great. The hot tub, outdoor furniture and fire pit were so good, something the whole family could enjoy.
The views are spectacular, you won’t beat it!
Lynne and family are so welcoming and can advise you on things to do locally on top of the brilliant information file that is waiting in the pod for you. They have literally thought of everything!”
